Parents often dread going to parent-teacher conferences, but perhaps they’d be more tolerable if we all adopted Wiz Khalifa’s gameplan?
The 36-year-old rapper was on the Call Her Daddy podcast this week, and during the conversation, he talked about how often he smokes marijuana, admitting he shows up to his 10-year-old son’s parent-teacher conferences stoned.
Hell yeah. I’m pulling up stoned. They expect it. They know what’s up. It’s not like back in the day [where] you’re considered a bad parent if you smoke weed. I’m pretty sure my son smells like weed. I don’t know because I can’t smell it but I’m pretty sure he smells like pot.
He claims one of the reasons he shows up high is because he wants the teachers to see the real version of himself.
Apparently, he considers the “high” version of himself to be his true self.
They’re not going to get a fake version of me or this made-up parent that society makes you think that you’re supposed to be. I am who I am, and it’s not because I’m a celebrity or anything. But it’s because it’s really what I believe in and why not get the real me? Why would I have to change who I am or act like I’m not that just for these places that I’m going to go? That’s not how I’m going to be living my life ever. Hell no.
Sure? It might be a little much to basically force your kid to smell like weed wherever he goes, but hey, who are we to judge?
For those who don’t know, Wiz shares his son with Amber Rose. They are no longer together, but co-parenting has been good between them.
