It’s still hard to believe, but 80-year-old actor Robert De Niro welcomed a baby girl with his girlfriend Tiffany Chen just nine months ago.
The legendary actor already had six children, so he wasn’t exactly trying for his seventh at 80-years-old, but sometimes little surprises happen.
And during a recent conversation with AARP The Magazine, De Niro got a little emotional while talking about his baby girl.
It feels great. Everything that I’m consumed with or worried about just goes away when I look at her. It’s wondrous. When she gets older — who knows? But that very sweet way she has of looking at you, taking you in, thinking and watching and observing.
How sweet. It’s not often you see that sort of emotion from De Niro. Sure, maybe you see it on screen, but not in his real life.
We can’t imagine being the parent of a 9-month-old at the age of 80, but it looks like De Niro is handling it well.
Elsewhere in the interview, he talked about how he’s slowed down in recent years and has learned to enjoy the smallest of moments, “I’ve learned not to worry or tax myself too much. I like to just let things happen.”
