As some of you may remember, actress Olivia Munn shares a 3-year-old son named Malcolm with her superstar comic husband, John Mulaney.
During a recent interview with PEOPLE at the TIME Women of the Year Gala, the 44-year-old mom talked about how Malcolm just started preschool.
We go to a school that does gentle transitioning, so that means parents can be there as well, so you don’t have to drop him off and leave and they start crying and screaming.
That’s a really neat idea! Especially when you’re dealing with kids who are just 3-years-old. That’s still pretty young to just drop them off some place new and be like, “See you in 5 hours!”
Thankfully though, Malcolm appears to be adjusting well. In fact, Munn claims it was actually emotional for both her and John to see their little guy doing so well…
But it was really emotional for John and I to see him in class doing so well. And then he just turned to us and he said, ‘So are you going to pick me up later?’ And we were just like, ‘Oh my gosh, that means he knows that we’re going to leave and is okay with that.’ And that was like, we both got in the car and just looked at each other and just tears welled up in our eyes.
There will be so many other emotional moments similar to this. Might as well just keep a box of tissues in the car!
