44-year-old actress Olivia Munn and 42-year-old comedian John Mulaney currently have their hands full. Not only do they have successful careers, they also have a 3-year-old son and an 8-month-old daughter at home.
During a PEOPLE cover story, Munn fully admitted, “Two kids is a lot.”
But she and Mulaney do have the option to extend their family as they have one remaining viable frozen female embryo from when she did IVF and an egg retrieval following her breast cancer scare in 2023.
After a lymph node dissection, a nipple delay procedure and a double mastectomy, Munn had ‘a window’ where she could do the egg retrieval before being sent into surgical menopause from having her uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries removed in a hysterectomy with oophorectomy.
During this cover story, Munn talked a lot about the surrogacy process. She had a friend who had used an agency before, so Munn reached out and found a surrogate who specifically wanted to help someone who had gone through cancer.
The first thing I worried about was if I would be able to find somebody who would love and take care of my daughter as much as I would. We were so lucky to find someone so kind who we bonded with so much.
She still remains close with the surrogate, and who knows, if her and John decide to use their last embryo, perhaps they’ll be able to work with her again.
