Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher have made headlines before with their, uh, unique parenting techniques.
They revealed, along with Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, that they don’t bathe their kids every day, or even every other day.
Kunis explained that she didn’t shower much when she was a kid because she grew up “overseas” and did not have access to hot water.
I wasn’t that parent that bathed my newborns — ever. Now, here’s the thing: If you can see the dirt on them, clean them. Otherwise, there’s no point.
And now, the 39-year-old mother of two is revealing another interesting house rule. She told E! News that she and Ashton have a “no closed doors” rule in their home, including the bathroom door.
That includes the bathroom. It’s just one of those where, for better or for worse, as a family and the kids have all kind of embodied bodily function as a very standard norm. I never thought that I would be the person that was able to go to the bathroom with the door open. Once I had kids, I was like, ‘Oh, forget it. Just keep the door open.’
Now does this mean that if one of the kids (or Ashton) shut the door, they’d be in trouble? Or does it simply mean you can leave the door open? Because if it’s the former, then that seems a tad bit extreme. Privacy can be a good thing, especially when it involves things happening in the bathroom.
Right now, their kids are 7-years-old and 5-years-old, so they probably don’t mind much, but we’re willing to bet this rule won’t last long.
Although, we should remember they are filthy rich and probably have like seven or eight bathrooms spread around the house, so you can probably use the bathroom in peace, even when the door is opened. You just have to pick the right one.
