At 59-years-old, John Stamos is entering a new stage in his life. The ‘Full House‘ actor has a 4-year-old son named Billy, and he’s been open about just how much fatherhood has changed him.

During a recent discussion on the PEOPLE Every Day podcast, Stamos talked about the second season of his Disney+ series, Big Shot.

He revealed how much he appreciates his character on the show because he’s not afraid to be vulnerable, which is something Stamos is just now learning to accept in his own life.

I cry almost every day now. I cry all the time in front of Billy. I want to, I like to, dive into those emotional themes. It’s not about the big things anymore for me. It’s about the moments, the micro-transaction.

I think a lot of people realize this later in life. We spend so much of our youth dreaming of these big things, trying to figure out how to become billionaires, but really what brings the most happiness are the little moments and the people you share them with.

Last month, Stamos opened up about how much he misses his ‘Full House’ co-star, Bob Saget. They were super close.

We were there for everything for each other: the good times, the bad times, divorces, marriages, kids. I don’t know how I’m gonna get through the rest of this world without him. Billy does something funny and I’ll go, ‘I wish Bob could see this,’ or I wish I could call him and tell him. It’s a tragedy.

Oh, and if you’re wondering, yes… Billy has watched Full House, much to Stamos’ chagrin.

Sometimes I come home and the nanny is showing it to him and I’ll fire her and I’ll put him on time out.
