Anne Hathaway doesn’t give a lot of interviews, but when she does, she delivers. During a recent appearance on the Jess Cagle Show, the 39-year-old actress talked a lot about her career and her kids.

For those who don’t know, Hathaway shares two kids (ages 2 and 6) with her husband, Adam Shulman. And during the interview, Hathaway revealed her kids have made her more selective with the roles she takes on.

I have to say, the ‘kids’ thing has been the biggest shift. That’s kind of prioritized everything, so it’s actually made me a bit choosier, because something really has to be so excellent to spend time away from them because they’re so precious to me; they’re the most scared part of my life by a longshot. And then when I do accept something, it puts greater pressure on me to make it worth the time that I’ve spent away from them.

So you could say that having kids has made her a better actress. And it makes sense, right? As a parent, you don’t want to miss anything when it comes to your children, so if something is taking you away from them, you better make sure it’s worth it.

The Oscar-winning actress also talked about what movie from her filmography she’s most excited to share with her kids once they’re a little older.

And no, surprisingly it’s not The Princess Diaries.

I am really excited to show them ‘The Devil Wears Prada.’ It’s such a good movie. And I say that, you know, with complete humility, I’m a small part in that film. It’s David Frankel, our director. It’s Meryl Streep. I mean, you know, Stanley [Tucci], Emily [Blunt], everyone ― Patricia Field.

Certainly not a bad choice. You can’t go wrong with Meryl Streep. In fact, she should be a subject in school. Math, science, history and Meryl Streep.
