On Monday, October 24, India celebrated one of their most significant holidays, Diwali, also known as the Festival of Lights.
If you were to compare it to a holiday here in the states, it would be just as important as Christmas.
The festival gets its name from the row of clay lamps that Indians light outside their homes to symbolize the inner light that protects from spiritual darkness.
Well, Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s 9-month-old daughter Malti celebrated her first Diwali this week with her parents.
Chopra shared photos from the celebration on her Instagram account, captioning the series of photos, “Love, peace and prosperity to all. From a heart truly laden with gratitude, I wish you all a Happy Diwali. Sorry I’m a little late but decided to stay in the moment just a little bit longer.”
The festival occurs annually each autumn and is primarily celebrated by Hindus, but has become a national festival over the centuries.
So yeah, it was a very special moment for Chopra, Nick and their daughter. It marks the first of many celebrations for the happy family of three.
And every celebration they have with Malti is even more special, considering she had to spend the first three months of her life inside the NICU at the hospital.
Glad to see everyone is happy and healthy now!
