The world entered a love/hate relationship with Justin Hartley’s character on ‘This Is Us‘ but not many people know much about the man behind the character.
At 45-years-old, Hartley is experiencing what an empty nest feels like. While chatting with Jennifer Hudson on her eponymous talk show, Hartley revealed it was difficult sending off his 18-year-old daughter, Isabella, to college.
It’s tough when they leave. You think you’re ready for it because as they get older they gain independence and they’re gone a lot anyway. They have their own friends and their own interests and you can go see them. When they’re actually gone, it really is a text or a phone call. And you know, she’s 18, so let’s be honest, it’s a text. I’m not getting phone calls, which is normal, but I hate it.
The thought sparked a bit of worry in Hudson, who replied, “I’m not ready for that! I’ve only got a 13-year-old, but I’m bracing myself for it.”
Hartley, sensing her panic, shared a positive about kids being out of the house, “More time to party,” he joked.
For those who don’t know, he shares Isabella with his ex-wife Lindsay Korman. They were married from 2004 to 2012. He then married Chrishell Stause, but they filed for a divorce in 2019.
Two years later, he married ‘Young and the Restless‘ star Sofia Pernas. As of right now, they’re still married, but let’s give it a few years before we call it a success.
