Sometimes it’s hard to believe Cardi B is a mother, but she is. In fact, she has two kids, 4-year-old Kulture and 1-year-old Wave.
And by all accounts, she’s a great mother. During a recent Instagram Live with her fans, the 30-year-old rapper was asked when she was going to drop some new music, but she didn’t have a firm date to give them because she’s too attached to her kids at the moment.
I feel like I have gotten too comfortable because… I’m just a mom. And I do have anxiety; I’ve been having a lot of anxiety because I know right after I drop my album I have to go on tour and I have, like, bad separation anxiety from my kids. People just be making it, like, seem like it’s easy, like ‘Oh, you could take your kids on tour with you and everything,’ but it wouldn’t be — that wouldn’t be fair for my daughter for me to do that.
She went on to talk about how her daughter is in gymnastics class and ballet, so it wouldn’t be right to take her away from all that.
For me to take my daughter on tour and sh*t, like it’s… I’m just gonna rob her away from things that like she loves to do just because I want her to be close to me and everything.
We can’t fault her thinking. A lot of celebrities probably don’t consider that when they drag their kids on tour with them, so it’s nice to see Cardi is putting her kids before herself. She truly does seem like a wonderful mom.
But just to be clear, she still does plan to release new music… she’s simply not in a rush. After all, she has plenty of money in the bank. She’s reportedly worth over $40 million.
