Gwyneth Paltrow famously split from her ex-husband, Chris Martin, back in 2014/2015. The two children they share together, Apple and Moses, were 11 and 9 at the time.
They had been struggling for years before the divorce, and it looks like Paltrow is now saying the kids were at least in part to blame.

During a chat with Katy Perry on her “Goop” podcast, the 50-year-old actress talked about how much things change in a relationship when you have kids together.
It’s hard on a relationship. Like I’ve looked back now on like the data set of parents with young kids and it just … ruins the relationship It’s really hard!
She said this with a bit of a laugh, but you can tell she really believes this as well, and there is truth to it. Kids can be an obstacle, and any obstacle is going to make a marriage more difficult to handle.
But it’s all about how you handle that obstacle, as Katy Perry notes.
I think if both people in the relationship are willing to do the work then it’s going to be so much easier. But if one person thinks they don’t have any work to do then it’s going to be really challenging.
Even though Paltrow believes having children ruined her marriage, she still thinks being a mother has been one of the most rewarding parts of her life.
“I never felt lonely again after I had Apple…. and I had felt profoundly lonely in my life,” she admitted. Perry expressed a similar feeling, saying she always felt like she wasn’t enough until she had a kid and felt their unconditional love.
