‘Ted Lasso‘ star Jason Sudeikis and his ex Olivia Wilde are trying their best to set a good example for the two kids they share together. For those who don’t know, Olivia and Jason are parents to 8-year-old Otis and 6-year-old Daisy.
And this past week, Jason decided to talk a little bit about life as a parent at the season 3 premiere of Ted Lasso.
They know [Ted Lasso cocreators] Brendan [Hunt] and Joe [Kelly] real well, and so they see how much we hang out, and laugh and enjoy each other’s company. May any of us get the opportunity to find a job where you have so much fun doing it. And if that’s the example that myself and Olivia, provide for them, then I’m happy about that. It doesn’t have to be in this business necessarily … Daisy wants to be about 10 different things.
Finding a job you truly love to do is probably one of the most important parts of adulthood. Unfortunately, many people get trapped working a job they hate, so teaching your kids at a young age to avoid falling into that trap is definitely a good thing.
Of course, Jason’s kids are growing up with extreme wealth, so they’ll have more opportunities than most to find something they love to do.
Jason also explained that he gives his kids all the credit when it comes to his Emmy-winning performance in Ted Lasso.
I don’t think I ever could have portrayed a parent — me personally, effectively, in a way that I would have believed — until becoming one. I don’t think I’m a good enough actor to do that kind of make-believe without having that kind of love that enters your life when you have kids.
