Emily Blunt is one of the most popular actresses in the world, starring in hit films like, Mary Poppins Returns, A Quiet Place, Jungle Cruise, Edge of Tomorrow, and the upcoming Christopher Nolan film, Oppenheimer.
And while her career certainly seems impressive to us, Blunt’s kids could not care less. During a lengthy interview with Harper’s BAZAAR UK, the 40-year-old movie star revealed her kids don’t care about her career.
When I see myself up on a billboard, I have this complete dissociation with it … I’m like, ‘Who’s that?’ And I can see my children doing the same — they might say, ‘Oh, there’s Mama,’ but it’s not exciting for them. What’s exciting for them is when I can pick them up from school and take them swimming.
Which makes sense. Kids want a parent, not a movie star, so the most important moments for them are when Blunt is doing typical parenting duties.
Blunt also revealed in the interview that she set a rule that she can never be away from her daughters for more than two weeks at a time.
Because even though they’re hardy, and they’re used to this strange life, it’s still rough on them when I have to go away.
For those who don’t know, Blunt shares her two daughters with husband John Krasinski. Talk about a power couple, huh?
Imagine having Jim Halpert as your father!
