Jennifer Lawrence was featured in Interview Magazine’s cover story this month, and she was interviewed by her close friend and fellow actor, Cameron Diaz.
During the conversation, they naturally started to talk about parenting. Lawrence shares a son named Cy with her husband Cooke Maroney. She gave birth to their baby boy back in 2022.
And she says she’s so lucky to have such a great husband to help her in this difficult parenting journey…
Fortunately, my husband is the greatest father in the entire world. So when I’m working, I don’t have any more guilt than the usual every day, all-day parent guilt.
The 32-year-old actress also revealed that being a mother has made her more selective in her career. She claims it’s much easier to say “no” to a role now.
There’s no squeezing when you have a baby. It definitely helps weed out projects: ‘Yes. No. Yes. No. Yes. No. Is this worth being away from my child for half the day?’
Lawrence says she has a calm approach to parenting and tries to not let the little things get her down, but she does admit to being super nervous while she was pregnant.
I was so nervous when I was pregnant. I was getting paparazzi’d, and I was just like, ‘How the f— am I not going to lose it on these guys when they’re taking a picture of my baby?’ I realized that my energy is more important to him than anything else. So if he feels that I’m anxious before I leave the house, or I’m angry when we’re outside, that’s going to impact him.
Wise words from J-Law.
