If you didn’t know, August is National Breastfeeding Month, and to celebrate, Ireland Baldwin is opening up about her breastfeeding journey.
The 27-year-old daughter of Alec Baldwin just welcomed her first baby (Holland) with her partner RAC three months ago. And while obviously she loves her daughter more than anything, she does admit there have been some challenges.
She opened up on her Instagram account, revealing she did not want to breastfeed in the beginning.
I think yesterday was international breastfeeding day? Regardless of how you chose to feed your baby, a happy, fed baby is all that matters. To be completely transparent, I did not want to breast-feed. I had my own personal reasons for that choice. But it turned out that me and little Miss were kind of good at it!!! It just took a little time to get there. She was supplemented with formula and still gets formula/breast milk combo!
She added that she takes pride in her ability to feed her daughter, but she also realizes that no matter how you reach it, a healthy baby and a healthy momma are the two things that matter the most.
Regardless of what you’re doing, just know, you’re doing a good job!!! In case someone hasn’t told you that lately.
I think that’s an important message to share, and something people don’t hear as often as they should.
