This child support battle between Kevin Costner and his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner, is starting to become a little silly.

For those who don’t know, the former lovers split earlier this year and are currently trying to settle their divorce in court, but the monthly child support payments are a big source of contention.

Costner and his attorneys believe the actor should only pay around $60,000 a month in child support for the three children they share together. Currently, the court has ordered him to pay $129,000 a month.

But even that insane number isn’t high enough for Baumgartner. She and her legal team went into court this week and asked the judge to increase the monthly total to just over $160,000.

Why? “Because living a luxurious life is in their DNA at this point,” — yes, her attorney actually said those words in court.

Baumgartner herself added that the request is about more than “material” things, claiming their estate is an “experience” and stating, “We create whatever we can dream up in here.”

Someone should tell her that you can dream without spending $160,000 a month!! I mean, does she really not realize how ridiculous she sounds? Only 8.3% of Americans earn over $150,000…. IN AN ENTIRE YEAR! And she claims she and her three kids need $160,000 a month to survive?

Her lawyer notes that because Costner flies around on private jets, their children should as well…

Because the children fly on private aircraft to go on luxury vacations when they are with their father, the Family Code dictates that Kevin should pay sufficient child support to Christine so that the children can go on comparable vacations when they are with her.

Give me a break.
