John Legend and Chrissy Teigen share four children together, ranging from age 7 to just 4 months. And while it might be a little early to teach their 4-month-old about giving back, they are doing their best to teach their older kids.
The family spent last Sunday at their local Ronald McDonald House to cook breakfast for the families staying there.
This was our kids’ first time at the Ronald McDonald House. We made our mochi pancakes, one of Chrissy’s recipes. And a lot of the kids that were there, some were patients, some were siblings of patients but our kids bonded with all of them quickly. They were playing basketball with them, having a good time. I enjoyed watching them.
They spent the afternoon there just playing and laughing with the families. Legend talked about how important it is for him and Teigen to teach their kids about giving back.
We try to teach them that it’s important to give back and to help other people. They’ve gone with us to help feed people who are hungry, they’ve gone to homeless shelters with us. We try to teach them to be appreciative of what they have and also know that there are a lot of people that don’t have the privileges that they do, so we should do what we can to help them.
Such an important lesson to learn, especially for kids who are born into extreme wealth, like Legend’s kids. He and Chrissy are worth a combined $100 million. So yeah, his kids definitely need to learn that not everyone is as privileged as they are.
