Rooney Mara Is Pregnant, Expecting Baby Number Two With Joaquin Phoenix!

Congratulations are in order for Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix. It was revealed this past weekend that Mara is pregnant with their second child.

She debuted her baby bump while wearing a long black dress at the premiere of La Cocina at the Berlin Film Festival.

Mara and Phoenix are a very private couple, so it’s no surprise she was able to hide this pregnancy for so long. She did the same with her first pregnancy.

The two stars welcomed their first kid, River, back in 2020.

Their son’s name honors Phoenix’s older brother, who died at age 23 on Oct. 31, 1993, from an overdose. He starred in films including Stand By Me, Running on Empty and My Own Private Idaho.

As mentioned above, they’re both private people and like to stay out of the headlines, but Mara did open up about motherhood in 2021 as she celebrated her first Mother’s Day.

As a new mom, Mother’s Day has taken on a special meaning this year. Raising our baby, River, has opened my heart to a whole new life filled with hope and more determination than ever to create a kinder and more sustainable world.
