The 2024 Summer Paris Olympics are set to kick off in just 10 days, and one of America’s great Olympic heroes, Shawn Johnson, will be watching from home.
The now retired Olympic gymnast just gave birth to her third child in December of 2023, and during a recent Q&A session on her Instagram, she talked a little about her postpartum journey.
One follower asked her, “did you end up taking medication for your postpartum depression?”

And to Johnson’s credit, she gave a pretty honest answer…
I didn’t. BUT I did do a full hormone and blood panel and had customized supplements made from the results with @joiwomenswellness and it changed my life. I had some major hormones out of wack from pregnancy and postpartum that we are working to get back on track.
As mentioned above, she gave birth back in December. She and her husband, Andrew East, decided on the name, Barrett “Bear” Madison East.
In addition to Bear, they share a 4-year-old daughter named Drew and a 2-year-old son named Jett.
For those who don’t know, East played in the NFL, so these kids are probably going to be very athletic. Maybe they’re raising future gold medal winners? No pressure or anything.
