Matt Damon is very much a girl dad. The 53-year-old actor has four daughters in total, ranging from age 24 to 13.
And even though he’s from Boston and sometimes sports a tough guy persona, he’s pretty chill when it comes to his daughters bringing boys home to meet the family.
I’m fine with it. Trying to intimidate your kids’s partners is an old trope that people like to play up. Dads like to joke about it amongst each other I think sometimes, but no. … [Alexia] has got this incredible boyfriend who Lucy and I just love. We adore the guy.
Imagine having Matt Damon as your father-in-law! That has to be pretty neat.
During his interview with Andy Cohen, Damon was asked if he had any words of wisdom for all the girl dads out there, and at first he said, “I wouldn’t deign to give anybody advice.”
But then he offered a little nugget of wisdom…
I just try to listen and be helpful. I mean, ultimately, it’s about building self-esteem. Like, 99 percent of the decisions they make, you’re not gonna be there, right?
