Former ‘The O.C.’ star Rachel Bilson has a podcast called “Broad Ideas” with her friend, Olivia Allen. They often talk about parenting on the podcast, as Bilson is a mom to 9-year-old Briar Rose.
And during a recent podcast episode, the 43-year-old actress revealed Briar doesn’t throw fits like most children, and she feels bad sharing that information because she doesn’t want it to come across like she’s bragging.
I almost feel weird talking about it with other parents because she doesn’t throw fits. It’s just…it’s not how she is. So if there’s ever a time where she’s off or gets, kind of upset about something, it totally disregulates [sic] me. I just mean it sounds like, ‘Oh my kid doesn’t throw fits,’ you know, but I’m like, no. It’s actually the truth.’
She went on to talk about how kind her daughter is. She’s also tuned in on feelings and can often sense when others are in a bad mood.
I felt so bad during a recent Target run. I found her being like, ‘Mom, are you happy doing this? Because you normally love Target.’ She’s like, ‘You normally love this and you don’t seem happy,’ And I just told her, I was like, ‘Oh honey, no. I love this. I love doing this with you. I’m just tired.’
Sounds like she’s raising a great kid! We need more empathetic people in the world.
