Global superstar Elton John is 77-years-old, but his two kids, Zachary and Elijah, are only 13 and 11-years-old.
This presents a challenge for the family. In the new documentary based on his life, Elton John: Never Too Late, Elton revealed that his two kids often worry about him dying.
They think about my mortality. They worry about my mortality. They love their daddy, so they want me to be around forever, [and] I would love to be around forever. I want to see them have children and get married. I don’t think I’m going to be around for that. Who knows? You never know. So that’s why I want to use the best time — the best of my time — while I’m around.
Yikes. That’s a tough situation to be in. It’s something we often think about with these celebrities who are having babies so late in life. For example, Robert De Niro just welcomed a baby at 81-years-old!
Elton’s husband, David Furnish, is 61-years-old, so Elton admits the kids aren’t as worried about his mortality.
But still, we’re sure they would prefer both their dads be around for a long time. As far as we know, Elton doesn’t have any severe medial issues, so perhaps he’ll be around well into his 80s!
By the way, this new documentary will be released on Disney+ on December 13.
