Tina Knowles knows a thing or two about parenting. After all, she raised two superstars, Beyonce and Solange.
She was recently honored at Glamour’s Women of the Year Awards, alongside other moms who helped raise influential figures in today’s society.
Tina spoke to PEOPLE on the red carpet and shared her number one parenting tip, which is simply, “The more you put in, then more you get out of it.”
I feel like the teenage years are the most difficult, but it will get better and you get what you put in. That’s what I truly believe. The more you put into your kids, the more love and care and support you give them, the more you get out of it.

When Tina gave her speech onstage at the event, Beyonce was in the audience, and at one point, the camera turned to her and you could see she was crying.
