As most of you know, Sophie Turner shares two daughters with her ex-husband, Joe Jonas. The two stars went through a pretty rough custody agreement, with both sides throwing accusations at the other.
Thankfully, with help from a mediator, they were able to set their differences aside and reach an agreement that works for both of them.
But that doesn’t mean it’s all rainbows and butterflies. During an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the 28-year-old actress admitted it’s “absolute agony” when she’s away from her kids. She splits her time between the states and the U.K., which means sometimes she’s over a thousand miles away from them.
Before I had kids, I was very depressed and anxious. I would isolate [myself] a lot. Now, I think I live my life for them. I want them to see me having a social life and enjoying work, and thriving in my career and relationships. I want them to see a hard-working mum.
According to the custody agreement, the girls are to split their time between the United States and the U.K., so they’re getting a pretty unique childhood experience.
And while it can be hard making the distance work, Turner knows it’s for the best because she’s much happier back home in the U.K. with her family…
I was away for so long — six years — and it was when my friends were getting engaged, and when I got pregnant. I went for dinner with someone the other day, and she said, ‘I never got to touch your belly.’ We didn’t have those key experiences with each other.
