Kieran Culkin Explains Why He Hasn’t Allowed His Kids To Watch Home Alone

Kieran Culkin is best known these days for his starring role in the hit HBO series, Succession. But decades before that, he and his brother, Macaulay, stole everyone’s hearts in the beloved Christmas classic, Home Alone.

But during a recent chit-chat with E! News, Kieran revealed that he hasn’t even let his kids watch the movie yet.

For those who don’t know, he shares a 5-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son with his wife, Jazz Charton. And according to Culkin, the movie is still too scary for his kiddos.

There’s still some scary parts. For the 3-year-old, there’s the tarantula [and] there’s the guy at the end who said, ‘I’m gonna bite off all your fingers.’ That’s scary for a 3-year-old. We think they might be ready for Home Alone this year. If not, next year.

That makes sense. Even though it’s a family classic, it still might be a little scary for the young kids. Also, you want them to appreciate it when you do show them, so it’s probably best to wait until they’re a little older.

What’s funny is that Culkin often plays the “jerk” in movies, but in real life? He’s a softie. His wife posted this photo to her Instagram recently, and you can just see how much he loves being a dad.
