Nicole Kidman was honored this year by Time magazine as one of their Women of the Year. The 57-year-old actress is a mom to four children.
She shares 16-year-old Sunday Rose and 14-year-old Faith with her longtime husband, Keith Urban. She also shares two older children with her ex, Tom Cruise.
During the interview with Time, Kidman talked about the struggles of motherhood. She remembers being terrified after giving birth and not being able to produce any milk…
I was terrified, asking, ‘What just happened? Where’s my milk?’ I remember standing naked in the shower, and my sister helped me. She was my source of strength. She’d had five children — she had the wisdom to pass on.
She did not share what the wisdom was, but the breastfeeding experience is often a difficult one for moms. Just know, if it doesn’t work for you, that does NOT mean you have failed in any way. We all have a different journey, and there’s no wrong way to travel.
Kidman also revealed that she’s been keeping all her red carpet dresses for her daughters…
I’ve saved all the red carpet dresses. I have them all beautifully boxed. They’re museum pieces. They raid my wardrobe all the time. I’m like, ‘Okay, what’s mine is yours,’ But I don’t raid their closet, even though I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s cute.’ But I’m not allowed to take anything. It’s a one-way exchange.
