As some of you may know, singer/dancer Ciara is a full-time mother now. She has four children in total with her NFL star husband, Russell Wilson. They have two sons and two daughters.
During a recent interview with Kindred by Parents, the 39-year-old star talked about the lessons she hopes to instill in her daughters, Sienna, 7, and Amora, 15-months.
I always want my girls to feel valued, know that they can create their own self-worth, they’re in control of themselves and where they can [go] in life. I want my girls to know that they’re not limited by their gender or the color of their skin.
Those are all valuable lessons. It’s important to not place any limitations on your kids, especially when they’re little.
If someone would have put limits on Ciara when she was young, she might not be where she’s at today. Most of all, she wants her daughters to know they control their own life.
I need to remind my girls to know when you are in the full essence of your honey and your sweetness, but also being firm and clear, you can make a lot happen in that space.
That’s certainly a more poetic way to put it!
