Ben Affleck is a well known collector of sneakers, and unfortunately for him, his expensive passion has been passed down to his 13-year-old son, Samuel.
Ben and Sam attended the Got Sole sneaker convention earlier this month, and they were filmed walking around the venue. In one clip, Sam takes interest in a $6k pair of Dior Air Jordan 1 sneakers.
“You like those because they’re expensive,” Ben told his son, but Sam quickly shot back, “No, they’re tough! I’ve always said they look good!”
He told his son, “That’s a lot of lawns you gotta mow there.”
It’s not clear if they bought the sneakers or not, but they did leave with a bag full of shoes between them. A week later, Ben attended the premiere of his ‘Accountant 2‘ movie at SXSW.
During an interview with Access Hollywood, he was asked about the sneaker video.
That’s what happens when you tell a motherf–ker they have to mow a lawn. All of a sudden, they don’t want those shoes. I’m like, ‘Man, you do not need $1,000 shoes,’ He’s like, ‘We have the money.’ I’m like, ‘I have the money, you’re broke.’
For those wondering, Ben is worth around $150 million, so yes, he definitely has the money. Good on him for fighting the urge to spoil his children!
