‘Jane the Virgin’ star Gina Rodriguez turned 38-years-old on July 30, and to celebrate, she announced that she’s pregnant with her first baby!
On her birthday, she jumped on her Instagram account to share a video montage set to the song ‘You Are The Reason‘ by Calum Scott. The sweet video starts off with her and her husband Joe LoCicero sharing a kiss before transitioning to clips they took of one another at a restaurant.
After placing in a sweet photo of the couple kissing as they walked down the street, the video switched to the last clip of the montage which showed the couple posing in together as they smiled at the camera. At the last second, Rodriguez-LoCicero brought her positive pregnancy test into frame to end the video.
She captioned the special post with a simple, “This birthday hits different,” several of her friends, family and co-stars commented on the post, including big stars like Viola Davis, Taraji P. Henson and Brittany Snow.
Gina and her husband, Joe, first met back in 2016. They met on the set of Gina’s hit CW show, Jane the Virgin. Believe it or not, Joe played a stripper during an episode in season two. Apparently, she really enjoyed his routine.
They got engaged in August of 2018 and tied the knot in May of 2019. For the most post, Gina has kept relationship details private, telling PEOPLE the following:
I just want to live! I think there’s a huge blessing in the fact that people care. That’s a beautiful thing, so that feels really good. But another part of me wants to keep a little something that’s just mine, ’cause there’s not too many things I have like that anymore.
We’re sure she’ll be just as private when it comes to her new baby, but hopefully she’ll provide us with at least a few updates along the way.
