Some extremely happy news to report for Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. They announced this week that they’re expecting a rainbow baby after suffering a painful pregnancy loss 22 months ago.
The 36-year-old model went on her Instagram account on Wednesday, August 3, to announce the surprising news.
She proudly announced that she’s pregnant with their fourth child after undergoing IVF. She also showed off her baby bump. In the photo, she’s rocking a crop top and lace underwear.
“The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again,” she captioned the post.
In the caption, Teigen talked about how nervous she’s been throughout this pregnancy.
Every appointment I’ve said to myself, ‘ok if it’s healthy today I’ll announce’ but then I breathe a sigh of relief to hear a heartbeat and decide I’m just too nervous still. I don’t think I’ll ever walk out of an appointment with more excitement than nerves but so far, everything is perfect and beautiful.
This news comes almost exactly two years after her pregnancy loss in 2020. At the time, she posted on her Instagram about how incredibly painful the loss was.
We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.
At the time, Teigen and Legend didn’t know if they were going to try again. After all, it was the last thing on their mind. They were grieving a great loss.
But after two years of healing, they’re ready for the next chapter.
