Wow! Talk about a surprise! MTV’s Nessa Diab shocked her fans on Sunday by announcing that she and her longtime boyfriend Colin Kaepernick welcomed their first child together.
She made the announcement just hours before appearing on the 2022 MTV VMAs black carpet. She shared a photo of her and Kaepernick holding their baby.
I thought long and hard about sharing our life changing news today. I decided to do so because today is the first day in a few weeks where I stepped out for work with a new life title – MOM! Colin and I welcomed our amazing baby to the world a few weeks ago and we are over the moon with our growing family.
Nessa also talked about how difficult the recovery period has been. She didn’t go into detail (yet) but it sounds like there were some complications post-birth. She shared that Kaepernick is the “most amazing” dad and she’s super grateful he’s been by her side the entire time.
I know sharing this allows me to connect with you in different ways that I never imagined. My conversations and life experiences have already changed. And my world has gotten that much bigger thanks to our sweet little baby who has shown me how to love in ways I never knew. Thank you everyone for your support as always.
Nessa and Kaepernick were first linked back in 2015, and then went public with their relationship in 2016, so they’ve been together now for seven years. One would assume they have a fairly solid relationship, so why wouldn’t they start a family?
The TV host stood right by Kaepernick’s side when he kneeled during the national anthem at an NFL game as a protest against police brutality and racial inequality. A decision that likely ended his career in the NFL.
Colin has always been helping people, he has always been involved, because he has empathy. Empathy was a reason why he was adopted: His parents — two of their children had passed away from heart defects. It’s why he helped so many young children with heart defects get proper care — he’s been doing that for years. I’m very fortunate that I have Colin next to me. It’s everything.
Certainly sounds like their child is going to grow up in a very supportive and loving household. Congrats to the happy couple!
