If you’ve been following the gossip headlines recently, you may have heard the rumors surrounding Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen. According to insiders, Gisele and Tom had a huge fight when he decided to return to the NFL after making the decision to retire just a couple months prior.

Gisele is reportedly tired of Brady putting football above his family, so she went on a long vacation by herself.

Now, the 42-year-old model/mother is speaking out in a new cover interview for ELLE’s October issue. She talked about how she’s done her part, stepping away from her career to raise their children, ranging from age 15 to 9.

I’ve done my part, which is [to] be there for [Brady]. I moved to Boston, and I focused on creating a cocoon and a loving environment for my children to grow up in and to be there supporting him and his dreams. Seeing my children succeed and become the beautiful little humans that they are, seeing [Brady] succeed, and being fulfilled in his career—it makes me happy. I have a huge list of things that I have to do, that I want to do. At 42, I feel more connected with my purpose.

Reading between the lines, it certainly sounds like she’s done doing all the work at home. She wants Brady to play the stay-at-home dad for a while, and that’s certainly understandable. He’s had a long and successful career in the NFL. It’s time for him to take a step back, but his pride won’t let him.

Gisele went on to say she’s looking forward to getting back out there and living her own life.

I feel very fulfilled in that way, as a mother and as a wife. And now it’s going to be my turn. It’s not like I’m going to be in the valley forever.

We have to imagine if Brady doesn’t retire after this season, it could signal the end of his marriage.
