Maci Bookout is probably one of the more beloved stars from the ‘Teen Mom‘ franchise. She appears to be the most “normal” one from the bunch.

For those who don’t remember, last year, Maci and her husband Taylor McKinney got into a pretty heated argument with the parents of her ex-boyfriend, Ryan Edwards. You see, Ryan and Maci share 13-year-old Bentley together, and thanks to Ryan’s pill addiction, the co-parenting relationship has been a struggle.
Ryan’s parents, Larry and Jen, have maintained a solid relationship with Bentley, but they often try to force Bentley to have a relationship with his father. This led to the huge argument at the reunion show last year between Larry/Jen and Maci/Taylor.
With the way things ended, it looked like there was a chance Bentley’s relationship with his grandparents might come to an unfortunate end, but thankfully Maci was able to repair her relationship with Jen and Larry.
Sometimes you just have to remove yourself from the situation so that you can really look at it and think about it and figure out what your next steps are. I feel like that them not being on the show has helped create that space. We’ve gotten back to a genuinely cordial space. It’s not forced or fake. It’s very authentic. It’s not super close, but that’s OK. It’s just a genuine cordial relationship.
And that’s honestly great news because you can tell Bentley really cares about Jen and Larry, so it would be a bummer to let a silly argument stand in the way of his relationship with his grandparents.
As for Ryan’s relationship with Bentley? Well, it’s still not there. According to Maci, Ryan still refuses to enter therapy with Bentley.
It still hasn’t happened, but the ball is still in Ryan’s court. It always will be. It’s one of those things where Bentley’s gonna live his life no matter what. He’s not waiting on Ryan. He’s hopeful, but he’s not waiting to live his life when Ryan decides to come in. Bentley is gonna do what Bentley does and be great. And Ryan can get on board if he wants to, whenever he wants to.
The good news is that Maci’s husband, Taylor, has basically treated Bentley as his own. He’s been a wonderful stepfather to Bentley. You can tell they have a pretty strong bond.
