For the past 15 years, football has been a constant for NFL star quarterback Patrick Mahomes. The 27-year-old Super Bowl champion has football in his DNA.

But that doesn’t mean he’s going to push it on his kids. Patrick shares an 18-month-old daughter named Sterling with his wife Brittany Mahomes, and they will soon welcome a baby boy together.

During a conversation on Sunday night’s episode of Football in America, Patrick talked about how he’s going to be chill when it comes to introducing “sports” to his children.

I think that’s the best thing for me. I’m going to help teach my son, my daughter, all the fundamentals and whatever they want to learn. But at the same time, I want to stay out of the way and let it be about them. That’s what my dad did growing up, that’s what my parents did. They let it be about me, let me out there and have fun, they didn’t pressure me to do anything. I think that’s why I’m in the position I am today.

Of course, when they see their father on the field every Sunday, they may naturally gravitate toward the sport.

After all, it’s worked out very well for Patrick. He led his team to a Super Bowl win back in 2020 and is worth a cool $45 million.

Earlier in the year, his wife Brittany brought their daughter onto the field during a game to surprise her father for the first time.

She’s been in the stadium before, but she was very young and sat in the back and didn’t really know what was going on. It was past her bedtime, that’s why I didn’t expect her to be at the game, but it was cool to see her on the field before the game. She had to leave pretty quickly because she got real tired, real fast.
