At nearly 50-years-old, Hilary Swank is pregnant for the first time… and she’s having twins! The 48-year-old actress made the surprise announcement on Wednesday during Good Morning America.

She revealed that she and her husband, Philip Schneider, are expecting twins.

This is something that I’ve been wanting for a long time and my next thing is I’m gonna be a mom. And not just of one, but of two. I can’t believe it. It’s so nice to be able to talk about it and share it. It’s such a blessing. It’s a total miracle. It’s unbelievable.

Now Swank has not mentioned anything about a donor egg, so it seems like she’s claiming this pregnancy was of the traditional variety, which is honestly quite shocking. According to one doctor online, it would take more than a miracle for this to happen, suggesting it’s nearly impossible.

Of course, we don’t know Swank’s situation. Perhaps she had her eggs frozen years ago. There are several options available, and it’s not really required of her to share the details.

Swank said she tried to keep the pregnancy a secret for as long as possible while filming her ABC series, Alaska Daily.

But my clothes started not to fit. And then I put a jacket on that wasn’t in continuity. And [they] came and said, ‘That’s not in continuity.’ I said, ‘Oh, I think it works.’ ‘It doesn’t.’ ‘No, it does. I’m going to make it work.’ She’s like, ‘If you’re an executive producer, you can do it, but this is weird.’

She also revealed she’s in her second trimester, so things have been moving forward. By the way, Swank has been with Schneider since 2016. They tied the knot in August of 2018.

Congrats to the happy couple!
