We live in the age of the internet. Or more specifically, social media. You have the power to create any version of yourself you want online, and sometimes, that version does not align with the real life version of yourself.
This is especially true when it comes to celebrities. They’ll often post the most glamorous shots, but that’s mainly to promote a lifestyle. Their social media pages aren’t really a glimpse inside their lives. Social media for celebs is advertising.
But some people don’t understand this. Just take a look at Megan Fox, who recently shared several photos of herself on her Instagram account. The carousel of selfies prompted a few fans to ask, “Where are your kids?” hinting at the fact she doesn’t appear to spend much time with them.
Fox saw the comments and replied with her own:
Wait wait wait. I…have kids?!? Oh my god I knew I forgot something!! Quick, someone call the valet at the Beverly Hills hotel. That’s the last place I remember seeing them. Maybe someone turned them into lost and found.
The sarcasm is real, folks. And honestly, we don’t blame her. It must be tiring to have people judge you based on a few selfies. They know nothing of her actual life. For all they know, her kids were five feet away taking their own selfies.
Speaking of her kids, she shares three of them (ages 10, 8 and 6) with her ex-husband, Brian Austin Green. They finalized their divorce eight months ago after splitting nearly two years ago.
Back in April, Fox admitted to Glamour UK that traveling while trying to be a mother does get difficult.
It is hard, because I travel for long periods of time and they have to attend school, which is what it is. I wish I could take them out to travel with me, it would make things a lot easier. I get in the bath and cry a lot about it because it is hard and not because of pressures that anybody else or society puts on you, but it is just hard being separated from them in that way.
