We all know smoking is terrible for your overall health, but still so many people find it extremely difficult to quit.

Just take a look at Simon Cowell. At 63-years-old, the ‘America’s Got Talent‘ judge has changed up his lifestyle in recent years. He’s eating better and working out more, but still, he hasn’t been able to quit smoking.

Thankfully, he’s slowly winning the battle against cigarettes, thanks in large part to his 8-year-old son, Eric.

During a recent interview with Extra, Cowell talked about how strict his son is.

If he catches me, it’s like being back in school. He’s the teacher. I have to sneak behind the hedges and I’m having my four puffs and I can see him following me around, but I said to him the other day, ‘Thanks to you, I’ve nearly quit.

Cowell shares Eric with his wife, Lauren Silverman. She also has a 12-year-old son named Adam from a previous marriage.

Simon, Eric and Lauren stepped out together last month for the season 17 finale of America’s Got Talent.

Cowell has previously opened up about how fatherhood has changed his life dramatically. He talked to Kelly Clarkson about the immense love he has for his son.

After I lost my parents, I genuinely felt, Kelly, I would never feel that kind of love for anyone ever again. I thought that was it … until I saw the scan of him for the first time. From that moment I saw the scan, I was like ‘That is it, I’m besotted.’ Now I just cannot imagine my life without him. He’s the most amazing thing that ever happened to me. I adore him.

It’s kinda strange seeing this softer side of Simon, huh? He’s grown a lot since his early American Idol days.
