Congratulations are in order for Scotty McCreery and his wife, Gabi. They welcomed their first child together on October 24 in Raleigh, North Carolina.
They welcomed a healthy baby boy named Merrick Avery McCreery. They named him after Gabi’s father.
The winner of American Idol’s 10th season released the statement you see below:
Next to his mother, he is the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. We have been waiting and preparing all year, and now we are so excited to have our little man here with us. We have begun a grand new adventure that will continue for the rest of our lives. Gabi was a total rock star during Avery’s birth. I could not be more proud of her. She has already taken to motherhood like a champ.
Don’t you love men? Always talking about things like they’re playing a competitive sport. “She has already taken to motherhood like a champ! Really think she has a chance at the MVM (most valuable mom) this year.”
Anyway, McCreery will be able to spend the next month at home with his wife and son. He doesn’t have another concert scheduled until November 30th in Las Vegas.
He and Gabi became engaged back in 2017 and married in 2018, but they were dating for years prior, so it certainly looks like true love.
Before they announced their pregnancy earlier this year, Scotty admitted they tried to hide it for as long as possible.
For us, it was one of those things where we just kind of treasured that initial time with just ourselves and just family and friends knowing, and not being too public. But after a while, with this kind of thing, you can’t really keep the secret too much longer.
