Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell are loving life with their two daughters, 9-year-old Lincoln and 7-year-old Delta. They couldn’t be happier with their kids, but there was a time when they only wanted to have Lincoln.
During a recent episode of the ‘Endless Honeymoon‘ podcast, the 47-year-old actor revealed he and Bell were “absolutely happy” with just the one kid. They originally didn’t have any plans to have a second child.
But then they thought about it more and decided Lincoln deserved a sibling.
We love her enough to do something we don’t really want to do, which is, have a second. We just thought it would be really helpful to make her a better person to have to deal with someone else … [and] live in the same room with another person and have to share everything.
He also noted that because they travel a lot for work, it wouldn’t be fair to have just the one kid by herself. And he said having a little brother or sister would keep her from becoming a “spoiled bitch.”

It’s interesting. The way he tells it, they literally only had another kid because they wanted to improve their first kid’s life. You know Delta is going to read her father’s quote one day and be like, “DID YOU EVER DO ANYTHING JUST FOR ME, DAD? OR IS IT ALL ABOUT LINCOLN?”
Dax also revealed that not only do his daughters get along, they’re united against him and Bell.
Not only do they party together, they’re united against us, which I love. I’m like, ‘That’s right. That’s your role. You guys gang up and kill me. It’s you two against the world.’
