‘Pitch Perfect‘ star Rebel Wilson went on her Instagram account on Monday to announce the birth of her baby girl, Royce Lillian.
The comedic actress shared a photo of her new baby girl, and wrote a pretty heartfelt caption, making sure to thank the surrogate who made this experience possible.
Beyond proud to announce the birth of my first child, Royce Lillian, born this past week via surrogate 💗, I can’t even describe the love I have for her, she’s a beautiful miracle! I am forever grateful to everyone who has been involved, (you know who you are), this has been years in the making…but particularly wanted to thank my gorgeous surrogate who carried her and birthed her with such grace and care. Thank you for helping me start my own family, it’s an amazing gift.
Back in May, Wilson talked about her journey to motherhood, explaining that she visited a fertility doctor in 2019, and the doctor told her she’d have a much better chance of harvesting and freezing her eggs if she lost weight.
At first, she thought the comment was rude, but then she decided to use it as motivation to get healthy, which led to her dramatic transformation in 2020.
I was taken aback. I thought, ‘Oh God, this guy’s so rude.’ He was right. I was carrying around a lot of excess weight. It’s almost like I didn’t think of my own needs. I thought of a future child’s needs that really inspired me to get healthier.
She lost over 80 lbs in total and is now in the best shape of her life. And it’s perfect timing, because taking care of a baby and soon-to-be toddler is no joke!
Wilson will raise her little baby girl with her partner, Ramona Agruma. She and the jewelry designer went public with their relationship back in June.
