67-year-old ‘Yellowstone‘ actor Kevin Costner and his wife Christine (48) have three children together, ranging from age 15 to 12.
He also has four other children from previous relationships, so in total, Costner is a father of seven. And during a recent conversation with PEOPLE, Costner talked about what it takes to handle the pressures of fatherhood.
You’ve got to get down on the ground and play with them. And you teach them to be independent — and the sad part about that is they become that. I’m like any other parent: I’m trying to figure it out.
Costner and his wife have been together for 18 years, so over time, they’ve developed a nice routine when it comes to taking care of the kids.
When Costner isn’t on set working, his days are 100% about his family:
I work as a provider. I’m a father and I’m a husband, but the world doesn’t revolve around me. When I’m not making a movie, I’m living and on the freeway with my wife, getting the kids to their stuff or I’m waiting for them to come out of a party. I’m just twiddling my thumbs. People have a wrong idea about how my life works.
There you have it. Costner’s days are just like yours. He’s probably going to drop off a return for his wife at UPS as we speak, and oh yeah, he’s getting a call that she also wants Starbucks, and oh make sure to use her account so she can get the extra stars.
