Back in late July, Gina Rodriguez announced she was expecting her first child by sharing a sweet video montage on her birthday, featuring her husband Joe LoCicero. At the very end of the montage, Gina showed off a positive pregnancy test, “This birthday hits different,” she captioned the clip.
And now, four months later, Gina is finally giving us our first look at her growing baby bump. She went on her Instagram to share photos from an outdoor maternity shoot with her husband.
The couple are seen posing in the autumnal woods with Gina wearing a white off-the-shoulder gown with a front opening. Joe is seen leaning in to her closely as he cradles his wife’s belly.
The 38-year-old actress first met Joe back in 2016 on the set of her CW show, Jane the Virgin. Her husband actually played a stripper on the show, so I guess she liked what she saw. They got engaged two years later and said “I do” in 2019.
Back in August, she told People the following:
I’m very excited and overwhelmed. I feel like every day is bizarre and different, and I have so much appreciation for every human being that has brought a child onto this planet. Anytime I see somebody with a child, I’m like, ‘Congratulations, you’re a superhero.’
No word on when Gina is expected to officially become a superhero with the birth of her first child, but we’ll keep you posted.
