Keke Palmer was the guest host on the most recent episode of ‘Saturday Night Live‘ and she made a huge announcement during her opening monologue.
She walked on stage wearing a long jacket and told the crowd:
There’s some rumors going around, people have been in my comments saying, ‘Keke’s having a baby, Keke’s pregnant,’ and I wanna set the record straight — I am!
She then ripped open her jacket to reveal her baby bump.
I gotta say, though, it is bad when people on the internet spread rumors about you y’all, but it’s even worse when they’re correct. I mean, like, I was trying so hard to keep it on the down low, cause I got a lot of stuff going on, you know? … But honestly this has been the biggest blessing, and I am so excited. Guys, I’m going to be a mom.
The 29-year-old actress is having the baby with her boyfriend, Darius Jackson. Their relationship has been a bit rocky, with some people claiming they split several months ago.
But apparently, they decided to work things out and now they’re going to be raising a child together. Palmer has talked some about her relationship with Jackson, saying she enjoys the fact that he’s not super famous.
I’ve always been somebody that hasn’t wanted too much industry stuff in my life, he’s very industry-adjacent, meaning he understands it but that’s not what he’s about.
Revealing her pregnancy live in front of millions of viewers had to be a huge deal for Palmer. She’s never been one to share details about her life with the public.
Back in March 2020, she told Harper’s Bazaar the following:
I don’t really do relationship stuff online, mainly because I don’t know how I would do it without looking, like, cheesy or something, you know? Yes, I’m a hundred percent authentic, but there is stuff that I do save for family and friends.
So don’t expect a lot of pregnancy updates from Palmer.
