Drew Barrymore is considered to be one of the nicest celebrities in Hollywood, but did you know she doesn’t give her daughters gifts on Christmas? I know, I know. We were shocked as well.
The 47-year-old actress has two daughters, 10-year-old Olive and 8-year-old Frankie, and during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, she revealed how they don’t get actual presents from her on Christmas.
Instead, they go on a family vacation together.
I always take them on a trip every Christmas. I don’t get them presents, which I think at their ages they don’t love. But I say, ‘I think we’ll remember the place and the photos and the experience and that’s what I want to give you. A life memory is better than a doll house or something.
Of course, Barrymore buys them gifts randomly throughout the year so she believes it all “evens out.”

She also noted that during the pandemic year, when they couldn’t go on a trip, she got them presents and she says the experienced “sucked.”
They don’t complain about not liking what they get [when I take them on a trip]. I’m glad I do what I do.
Honestly. I’d rather go on a trip than get some random gift as well. I don’t want a lot of things, but I do like experiencing things and creating memories, so I’m with Barrymore. I think she has the right idea.
What do you think? Presents or a trip?
