Michelle Williams is a famous actress, who just recently starred in the lovely Steven Spielberg flick, The Fablemans, but before any of that… she’s a mother.

The 42-year-old star talked to Entertainment Weekly about trying to find the balance as a working mother of three.

It’s amazing because we all do it. That’s how every human gets here, is a woman giving of herself. [Babies] have to arrive, and they have to be sustained, all of it. So I’m continuously searching because balance isn’t a stable place. Balance means that you’re always adjusting. You have to figure it out because we have to stay in the workforce.

The past two years have been especially difficult. She had just welcomed her son Hart when she got the call to work with Spielberg. If it had been any other director, she may have turned the offer down.

And since wrapping on the film, she’s welcomed another baby with her husband Thomas Kail. They share two kids together, but Williams also has a 17-year-old daughter named Matilda, who she had with the late Heath Ledger.

My heart obviously belongs to my children; they tug at it the most. But I really want to be able to have both. And I think that it requires deep thought and learning and the support of other women to figure out how to get through it.

She also wanted to give a special thanks to the Elvie breast pump…

I would like to give a shout-out to the Elvie breast pump for being hands-free and not plugging me into the wall so I can pump a bottle of milk for my baby while I’m having lunch with my toddler. That’s a big one for me.
