As most of you know, Gina Rodriguez is pregnant with her first child. And while she was incredibly excited when she first found out, she was also really nervous because she was scheduled to start filming a new show. You see, in a perfect world, Gina would have gotten pregnant after filming.

But instead, she became pregnant right before the show, Not Dead Yet, started to film.

Me and my husband are obviously very excited about it, but it definitely wasn’t planned. It’s my first time experiencing this, and they’ve been so loving and supportive of me.

She talked about how executive producer Dean Holland was a huge help during production. He was always there to make sure she felt comfortable.

So he helped all the directors come up with very creative ways to either cover the belly, whether it was costumes or my cubicle, or a plant or refrigerator. I’ll never forget, because each day I felt like, ‘I’m so big, I can’t imagine hiding [this]’ and now I look back and I’m like, ‘That was nothing,’ I was so afraid.

The 38-year-old actress also recalls telling the showrunner that she’s “not getting smaller,” to which he assured her, “You’re pregnant, you’re a miracle, just live in it, and we’ll figure it out.”

It definitely sounds like she had a great team working with her. Not all producers/showrunners are that understanding. She hit the jackpot.

Rodriguez is currently in the final weeks of her pregnancy. We can’t wait to hear more updates from her!
