Some good and bad news for fans of Panic! At The Disco. In a lengthy statement posted to Instagram, lead singer Brendon Urie revealed that he and his wife Sarah are expecting their first baby together.
And because of this, he will be stepping away from the band.
But sometimes a journey must end for a new one to begin. We’ve been trying to keep it to ourselves, though some of you may have heard.. Sarah and I are expecting a baby very soon! The prospect of being a father and getting to watch my wife become a mother is both humbling and exciting. I look forward to this next adventure.
He went on to say that he’s bringing the ‘Panic! At The Disco’ chapter of his life to an end. He noted all his focus and energy will be directed at his growing family.
Urie thanked his fans for their love and support throughout the years.
I’ve sat here trying to come up with the perfect way to say this and I truly can’t put into words how much it has meant to us. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or are just finding us, it has been a pleasure to not only share the stage with so many talented people but also share our time with you. I am looking forward to seeing everyone in Europe and the UK for one last run together.
It’s certainly the end of an era. The band has released some pretty big hits, including, I Write Sins Not Tragedies, Nine In the Afternoon, and This Is Gospel.
Brendon and Sarah married in 2013, but they’ve been together since 2009, so you know, we have to imagine they’re more than ready for a baby. They have lived the parent-free, married life for 10 years now.
Congrats to them both!
