Earlier this month, it was confirmed Claire Danes and her husband Hugh Dancy were expecting their third child together, much to the surprise of everyone… including their two children.
Danes and Dancy are already parents to 10-year-old Cyrus and 4-year-old Rowan. And according to Cyrus and Rowan, their family of four was just perfect.
During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the 43-year-old actress revealed her sons did not have the best reaction to her pregnancy news. Cyrus was not thrilled about it, but it was Rowan who really took issue with the news.
But Rowan has more to lose, he has more at stake. He was categorically opposed to the idea. He said, ‘Yeah, no, no. I don’t like it. I don’t like it. I like peace, Mama.’ I was like, ‘You like peace?’ That’s rich, because that dude does not shut up. He said, ‘When it comes out of your tummy, we’ll give it to a family that doesn’t have a baby … ’cause we’re done.’
Well, at least he was honest? I’m sure he’ll grow to love his younger sibling in time. That’s typically how it works out.
Danes told him that when the baby comes out, it’s going to be “pretty dumb” so it’s going to need his help with some things, which seemed to interest him.
That was interesting to him, he liked the idea of being sort of a condescending presence. So now he’s a little more optimistic.
By the way, Danes said she believes this baby will be her last. That’s great news for Rowan.
