John Legend and Chrissy Teigen welcomed their third child together last month. A little baby girl they decided to name Esti Maxine Stephens.
But what’s behind the name? Well, Legend talked to E! News this week and revealed the name actually pays respect to multiple family members.
Once Chrissy told me that idea, I was like, ‘Oh, my great-grandmother’s name was Esther,’ We wanted to already name her middle name Maxine after my grandmother, whose middle name was Maxine. So, it’s a lot of my family in the name.
I think it’s sweet when parents pay tribute to past family members. Plus, Esti is a beautiful name!
As mentioned above, Esti is their third child together. They already share 6-year-old Luna and 4-year-old Miles. They announced they were expecting baby number 3 back in August of 2022, two years after Teigen suffered a pregnancy loss.
When she made the announcement in August, she admitted the past two years had been a blur.
The last few years have been a blur of emotions to say the least, but joy has filled our home and hearts again. 1 billion shots later (in the leg lately, as u can see!) we have another on the way.
So will Teigen and Legend try for another baby? Well, it’s possible. Back in September of 2022, Legend admitted Teigen wanted more. He hinted that he’d be okay with having one more, so don’t be surprised if another pregnancy announcement comes in the next year or two.
