Ashley Graham is not about to let you shame her. The American Beauty Star host was on The Daily Show on Tuesday, February 7, and she explained her somewhat controversial decision to stop breastfeeding her twins when they were five-months-old.
“Overnight, my whole life changed. It felt like I was feeding a nation,” she joked. For those who don’t know, she and her husband Justin Ervin welcomed twins Malachi and Roman back in January of 2022, just two years after they welcomed a little baby boy named Isaac.
There’s also this whole thing with people telling you how to feed your child. So, with my first kid I was like, ‘I can only breastfeed! This is the right way!’ And then I had the twins, and I was like, ‘I’m not doing this. This is not working here. Both of you want both of these? This is a lot of work.’
So she switched to “the best formula” she could find when the twins turned 5-months-old. She said her twins were “so strong” and “so happy” and she didn’t think anyone should have any opinions on how she decides to take care of her children.

We can certainly agree on that. The internet loves to comment on things it knows nothing about. Women are asked to give so much. Heck, it’s a miracle Graham pulled it together for five months to breastfeed, considering she nearly lost her life while giving birth to the twins.
The night I gave birth to the twins, I hemorrhaged. We didn’t even have enough time to blow up the home birthing tub because everything happened so fast. I remember seeing darkness and what seemed like stars. I lost liters of blood. Thank goodness the twins were fine, while I lay on that bed for four straight days. I couldn’t walk for a week. And I didn’t leave my house for nearly two months.
We’re just glad everyone is happy and healthy now.
